THE FILMS OF RIDER BEANIE

in PR are not very often, but cyclists may have been using them in other cities, the Internet, in photos, videos, magazines, etc. We refer to the famous, curious and beautiful rider beanie.

Where does this cap? Who use it? What is its use / function? Why are so fashion recently?

These hats are made for decades, from the time when professional cyclists not wearing helmets. The hats were first manufactured in France, where they are known as Casquettes . The caps have a practical use: the riders put (and get) these caps because they offer protection from sun, wind and the rain. In countries where it is cold, the cap also protects against it. The caps fit well in the head, so that they do not fall when riding a bike at high speed, or when it is windy. The visor of the cap can move up when you do not need sun protection when you are rolling in, or when you want better visibility. The cap is lightweight, and can be worn under the helmet.

often marks bike and other bike racing sponsors, gave away hats to cyclists and sports fans, for advertising. Here you can see a traditional hat with the logo of the famous Italian brand of bicycle components, Campagnolo:

Until the early '80s, was quite common to see professional cyclists using the caps as they competed in events like the Tour de France. In recent years, with the compulsory use of helmets in professional skills, and the availability of sunglasses ever lighter and more sophisticated in the sport of cycling is not so common to see professional cyclists using hats while competing, but sometimes professional cyclists wear a hat when receiving an award at the podium.

However, while the hats disappeared from professional cycling competitions, appeared on the street. The caps have tended a huge resurgence among urban cyclists, and other professional cyclists. This is due to practical reasons but also because the cap has become a fashion accessory for this type of rider. Some ciclsitas also enjoy wearing the hat because it's retro and nostalgic, reminding them of a golden era in professional cycling. Today, in many countries, cycling cap has become a de rigueur accessory , a signifier, an identification card for the urban cyclist. People use them even when not riding bike. Here you can see an example of a cycling cap contemporary, urban style:
cycling caps are made by a machine in China, often with brand logos in the bike industry. There are hats handmade by a tailor / craftsman / artist. There are simple and minimalist hats. There are hats with more details. There are hats made by mass. There are custom-made hats. There are hats made of all materials: cotton, linen, tweed, corduroy, wool, silk, etc. There are hats of one color, or design. There are shirts with various designs and colors. There are hats made from vintage fabrics, or recycled, to the things you like eco-friendly, or antique look. There are hats vegan (ie made of materials that come from animals). There are hats made only with organic materials. Finally, there is a huge variety of hats, of different quality and different prices - from $ 5 to $ 50 each.

I say those who know sewing these caps are not hard to do. We hope that creative people and love the bike is motivated to make these hats in PR Personally, we would like to see cycling caps made by Concalma .

Meanwhile, here's some companies keep engaged to do, and who can buy hats rider. These companies keep are small - one or a few people. We confine ourselves here to list companies keep making hats to order, or by hand, or high quality (the hats made by the Chinese robot are easily found by Google). The companies keep are not listed in any particular order. Arm wrestling on behalf of the companies keep to access your page:

Funeral Thank You Note Samples

AMA RAIL = RAIL

For years, lack of bike lanes, or perhaps a lack of effective measures to protect public safety, and the right to travel on the ciclsistas roads, Puerto Rican riders in the metro area have used the lane Metropolitan Bus Authority (AMA) as a ciclocarril. So the AMA lane has become an unofficial bike lane. All are day see cyclists using the lane loves her exclusive use in the correct direction. It is also used in reverse. The day use. They use it at night. When they see the bus coming, riding on the sidewalk. If they can not ride on the sidewalk, then stopped beside the curb and wait for the bus will pass them by hand just inches away. The most skilled, or more daring, is Mudu to one lane of cars (assuming that there is / are cars), and then return to take the lane on the AMA

Bicyclists using the lane on the AMA report using this lane because they feel safer. They are further away from the cars. But the reality is that this is mere perception. A mere illusion of safety. The reality is that the AMA lane is the lane of death to the rider. There have been many accidents and even deaths of cyclists who were passing lane Few of the AMA riders survive an impact speed of a bus.

seems hard to believe, but the safest place for the cyclist is on the road, in rail cars on the far right, in favor of transit. This is because it is the place where the cyclist is more visible to motorists. Also no vehicles approaching in the opposite direction the rider, vehicles that sometimes the rider perceives and when it is too late. Even if the cyclist is in the lane on the AMA and may avoid the bus, if you only have a few seconds to evade the rider can fall off (and be seriously injured) to try to ride on the sidewalk or being struck by a car if you move to a rail car.

Again, it is safest for the cyclist is manetnerse in the far right lane, as close to the curb as possible (but without having to roll over sewers, or without shoot too close to parked cars - which anyone can open the door suddenly y. .. BOOM!). If necessary, and if prudent, the cyclist may, in its own right, taking the full lane. When cyclists roll into the lanes of the AMA, cyclists Hizan a white flag. Cyclists tell the cars that are rendered, they are afraid, not afraid to shoot in the street that belongs to them also. When cyclists roll into the lanes of the AMA, the riders give up their rights.

roll The more cyclists on the road, not the sidewalk or on the rail of the AMA riders will be more visible and increase security will all cyclists. The more cyclists rolling down the road, have more respect for all cyclists. For your own sake, avoid exclusive lane AMA Monday to Friday between 4:30 am and 10:00 pm, and Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from 5:30 am to 10:00 pm, lane WADA is bicimuerte lane.

Is A Male Brizlian Wax The Same As A Females

BICIMUERTE SANTA: CHRISTMAS IS URBAN WANT A BIKE!

With everything you've read about the many benefits of the bike, and the positive changes that seem to look out for the bike as a means of transport in PR, maybe this Christmas you convinced to ask for a town bike to Santa. Or the Kings. Or both (Warning: consult a marriage counselor before writing little notes).

But what is a town bike? In theory, any bike can be assembled in the city. But this does not mean that any bike is urban. There are bikes made and designed for different purposes, including for use in the city. To further complicate things, there are many different types of urban bikes.

Perhaps the easiest way define an urban bike is pointing out what is NOT an urban bike:
 1. A town bike NO is a Mountain Bike (montuna bike, or 'ride' in pueltorro).
 2. A town bike is NOT a Camella (road bike / road bike) racing.
This does not mean that these bikes can not be used in the city. What that means is that these bikes are not optimal for the city, for various reasons not discussed here, and also perhaps already know (if you want to know more about, write).

Now, as noted above, there are different types of urban bikes. The town bike that suits you best depends on urban use to think it: for walking to work, to shop, to take charge, to combine with other forms of transport to go fast, to do tricks, and more. Here are some common types or categories (but certainly not universally) accepted urban bike. Some of these types have subtypes. The names are in English
 1. Fixed Gear (usually a single speed. can be track - ie the velodrome - , freestyle fixed , cruiser, etc. Any bike with gear fixed).
 2. Singlespeed (Single Speed, but instead freewheel fixed gear).
 3. Urban Jump
 4. Cargo / Utility / Work
 5. Transportation ; / Commuter
 6. Cruiser Low Rider
 7. Ten Speed/27 " (These are no longer manufactured in the '80s. Those who are out there are vintage. )
 8. Mixte (these are becoming popular again after have almost disappeared in the 80s)
 9. Folding (folding)
 10. City / Café
 11. Other (anything that is not described in # 1 to # 11, except mountain bikes and camels)
Note: none of the above include tricycles or unicycles , since these are not bicycle (2 wheels), but we love these bike premiums, and are often used as transportation.

Some of these bikes have a single speed. Others are 3, 6, or 9 speed. But usually no more than 10. Why not? Because for most cities do not need more speed (unless you live in a city with steep paths, such as that the city of San Francisco, or unless you need a cargo bike).

Some people may include Cyclocross bikes , Touring bikes , and even bikes Randonneuring as urban bike. And with good reason, as these bikes are very versatile , and are often used in the city. But as with the mountain bikes, these bikes have designs and specific applications that did not contemplate Originally a city use and are not urban bike 'traditional' (Note: Track bikes are not considered urban bike until it was adapted to such use in recent years, so the idea of what town bike is always changing .)

Other may include Hybrid bikes . These bikes became very fashionable in the '90s, but its popularity has been falling in the XXI century. The intention was to create a bike that was as a mixture, the result of a taboo romance between a mountain bike and a camel. Our view, subjective, is that these bikes are neither one thing nor the another, and therefore have inherent limitations. Moreover, they are rare. As they say, or you comb your hair, or you get the rolls.

Now that we have a general idea of what a town bike, where you can get a PR? There are 3 options:
 1. Megastore
 2. Bike Shops Used
Generally, the first option would not recommend it because the bikes are available in these places tend to be urban bike. They tend to be bike made in China or India, relatively poor quality, with lower quality parts, and with little or no attention to detail. In general, these bikes tend to be quite heavy. These bikes are sold at low prices, but as they say: the cheap is expensive. Eventually you'll want a better bike (either for aesthetic reasons, functional, or both), or just your bike will not last long.

recommend the second option. The problem is that many bike shops sell only PR camels and mountain bikes.

The third option would also recommend it. The problem is that many of the bikes used in PR are camels, and mountain bikes, precisely because this is the only type of bike bike stores in PR have been selling for years. Although occasionally get bikes, or frames, '60s, '70s and '80s that can be ideal for the city. Sometimes you have to do is modify a little, with some creativity. But be careful with the condition are these bikes / frames used, and not pay too much.

If you would like a town bike as a gift this Christmas, we give you 3 tips:
 1. Ask your bike shop PR favorite band you an urban bike. If you say, "look at this mountain bike, run away from the store.
 2. Buy a used bike, and modify it for street use. Calls
 3. town bike directly from a manufacturer that specializes in urban bike.
Here are some suggestions for the third option. Our criteria are whether the bikes are steel, chromoly steel is (not hi tensile '), the picture quality of the pieces and accessories is good, the price is reasonable, the bikes are not made in China or India, the bikes allow you to dress up and ride with clothing that is not made of Lycra; the bike will last many years if you take good care in some cases, you can design your own bike (colors, pieces, etc). Arm wrestling in names:
 1. PUBLIC
 2. Bikes Bicycle Company Mission
 3. Wabi Cycles
 4. IRO CYCLE
 5. Pake Bikes Yuba Bicycles
Here are some specialized brands exclusively in urban bike fabricacción of high quality, but not direct selling the public. All have U.S. distribution. UU., And can often be purchased through online bike stores. Arm wrestling in names:

Breezer (one of the leading brands of mountain bikes. Belongs to Fuji.)
Brompton
Strida
Globe (owned by Specialized)
Civia

Note: Apart from these brands (and many others) who specialize in urban bikes, almost all bike brands now manufacture some urban models. This includes popular brands in PR as Trek, Specialized, Bianchi, Felt, Fuji, Schwinn, Raleigh, Bianchi, Felt, etc.. Ask your favorite bike shop to bring them!
